Meet your captain, Erik Ouwens.
Hi, I'm Erik — father, husband, gym junkie, tackle freak, major fishing geek and owner of Chasing Blue Fishing Experiences.
Growing up in the suburbs of Rotterdam surrounded by water, I started fishing at the young age of four and it soon became an essential part of my life. Today, I'm thrilled to pour my life-long passion into my business.
Since we started Chasing Blue in 2017, our goal has been very clear: to provide a high-quality fishing charter for experienced anglers and fishing freaks who like to travel the world and expect that little bit extra from their captain.

When is the best time for tuna fishing?With the seasons changing more rapidly, the best periods for BFT fishing have changed as well over the last years. In fact, we've experienced amazing action throughout big parts of the year. As a general guideline: Top-water: March, April, May (pre-spawn) July, August, September (post-spawn) Chumming: July, September, October, November

What does a day of fishing cost?Our prices vary based on the season and start at EUR 985.00 for 8 hours of fishing (for a maximum of 4 fishermen). Read more about what's included in our prices here. (to be updated soon)

Do we have to bring our own rods?Even though we think that catching a fish with your own gear can be a more fulfilling experience, we do provide high-end gear that is specifically selected and perfect for the job. Please consult about the gear fee with us as our policy for fishing gear will change for 2025.

Is accommodation included in the price?No. But you can book an amazing appartment directly with us which is located straight at the harbour and has capacity for up to 6 persons (subject to availability). If you're interested, just let us know.
