Fishing day charters start from €985 for up to 4 guests for 8 hours on the water. Yacht charters and expedition packages are priced on enquiry depending on vessel, duration and group size. All pricing is fully transparent — no hidden fees, no surprises on the day.

We take a deposit to hold your dates. If offshore conditions are unsafe on the day of departure, we reschedule at no cost to you. Full cancellation terms are provided with your booking confirmation. Trip insurance is strongly recommended for international guests travelling specifically for a charter — ask us and we can point you in the right direction.

Our fishing vessels take a maximum of 4 guests. This is deliberate — not a limitation. Four anglers means full attention from the captain, better deck management, faster strike response and more fish. Humilitas expedition yachts accommodate 8 to 14 guests depending on the vessel.

The Costa Daurada and Ebro Delta fishery holds an exceptional variety of offshore predators. Primary targets include Bluefin Tuna, Leerfish, False Albacore, Dorado, Amberjack, Little Tunny and Bluefish. The specific species available depends on the season — we always advise on what is running when you plan to visit.

Bluefin Tuna season on the Costa Daurada broadly runs from May through October. Topwater action is most consistent during summer months, with chumming extending the season into autumn. That said, conditions shift year to year with water temperature. If your dates are flexible, contact us and we will tell you exactly when to come for the best chance at a Bluefin.

The Ebro Delta estuary system is one of the best Leerfish habitats in the western Mediterranean. Leerfish — known locally as Llucet — run from spring through to late autumn, with peak activity during warmer months. They are a highly technical target: fast, powerful and demanding on light spinning and popping tackle. Our captains specialise in Leerfish estuary tactics and know exactly where to find them through the season.

We fish with the method that gives you the best chance on the day. Techniques include topwater popping, spinning, jigging, live bait trolling, chunking and chumming — matched to the target species, the conditions and your experience level. Our captains hold IGFA certification and use tournament-grade tackle selected specifically for each trip.

No. All rods, reels, lures, lines and terminal tackle are provided and selected for the specific target species that day. If you have your own gear you prefer to fish, bring it and we will discuss suitability before departure. A gear fee may apply for certain trip types — ask us when you enquire.

Yes. Catch and release is our standard practice for most species and we operate within all IGFA and local regulatory guidelines. We take the long-term health of the fishery seriously. If you wish to keep a fish for the table, discuss it with us in advance — species regulations and size limits always apply.

None is required. We fish with complete beginners and experienced tournament anglers alike. Tell us your experience level when you enquire and we will tailor the trip format, technique and target species accordingly. Every charter is captain-led and fully guided from deck briefing to final cast.

Chasing Blue operates with two IGFA-certified captains. Erik Ouwens is the founding captain — Dutch-born, fishing since age four, with over seven seasons hunting offshore predators from the Costa Daurada and Ebro Delta. Eric Sierra was born and raised in L'Hospitalet de l'Infant and specialises in spinning, popping and jigging for Bluefin Tuna and Leerfish. Every charter is captain-led from planning to departure.

Every charter includes a fully briefed captain-led day on the water, all fishing tackle and equipment, safety gear, soft drinks and water on board, and a pre-trip species and conditions update. Meals and accommodation are not included in day charters but we can advise on the best options near the harbour.

We depart from L'Hospitalet de l'Infant and Cambrils — two coastal towns on the Costa Daurada in the Province of Tarragona, southern Catalonia, Spain. Both are located on the Mediterranean coast approximately 150 kilometres south of Barcelona and 15 kilometres north of the Ebro Delta.

The Ebro Delta — Delta de l'Ebre — is one of the largest wetland areas in the western Mediterranean, covering 320 km² of lagoons, rice paddies, estuaries and open coastline. It is a Ramsar-protected nature reserve and home to over 300 bird species. The nutrient-rich waters created by the river outflow concentrate baitfish, which in turn attract the offshore predators we target — Bluefin Tuna, Leerfish and False Albacore among them.

The Costa Daurada offers a genuinely exceptional mix of nature, food and culture. Cambrils is one of Catalonia's top gastronomic destinations — two Michelin-starred restaurants, a fish auction that supplies the best kitchens on the coast, and a strong local seafood tradition built on Ebro Delta rice. L'Hospitalet de l'Infant has three Blue Flag beaches and a quiet, unhurried pace. Salou and Sitges are both within easy reach for beach culture and nightlife. The Ebro Delta Natural Park is extraordinary for birdwatching — flamingos, ospreys and herons year-round.

L'Hospitalet de l'Infant and Cambrils both have excellent accommodation options from apartments directly on the harbour to hotels along the beachfront. For multi-day expedition charters on the Humilitas fleet, private cabins, prepared meals and full crew are included on board. We are happy to suggest accommodation options near the departure point — just ask when you enquire.

Barcelona–El Prat Airport (BCN) is one of Europe's best-connected airports with direct flights from over 200 cities including London, Amsterdam, Stockholm, Dublin, Frankfurt, New York and Dubai. From arrivals, L'Hospitalet de l'Infant is approximately 90 minutes by car on the AP-7 motorway, or around 80 minutes by train to Cambrils via the R16 regional service from Barcelona Sants. There are no connecting flights or long transfers involved — most guests arrive the evening before and fish the following morning.

The fishing season on the Costa Daurada runs broadly from March through December, covering multiple species across the year. For Bluefin Tuna, spring and summer are the peak. For Leerfish and False Albacore, spring through autumn. Dorado arrive in warmer months. If you want the widest variety of targets and the best overall conditions on the water and on land, May through October offers the most consistent offshore fishing combined with the best weather for enjoying the region.
